From unassuming routes in St. Louis, Missouri, Derek Engemann has become a formidable force to be reckoned with in the world of metal, bass playing, song writing, and guitar playing.  Known globally for his unique song writing style as heard on many Billboard charting albums, intense stage performance, and on-point instructional clinics, Derek has created an devastating avalanche of impact on the music world which has been recognized by the industry.  Derek is currently endorsed by ESP guitars and basses, Peavey Amplification, Amptweaker pedals, Ernie Ball guitar and bass strings, and has released records on Unique Leader, Metal Blade, Housecore Records, and more.  Moreover, Derek is also the owner of Bandit Press: Screen Printing and Merchandise Distribution.

Since 2005, Derek has performed 1000+ shows in over 30+ countries supporting his own creations and through various projects over the years.  From there, it has been a steady building of intensity; from his humble beginnings in the recently reformed and signed project CAST THE STONE, to his critically acclaimed work with CATTLE DECAPITATION and SCOUR. To start, he appeared on UMERCIFUL’s “Unmercifully Beaten” album, released via Unique Leader Records in 2005, for which he toured across the world in support of such honorable mentions as Cannibal Corpse.  Thereafter, gaining a reputation for professional recording and life on the road, Derek began doing even more touring and performance work for variously-styled and signed acts such as NEURAXIS, DISKREET, STRONG INTENTION, COVENANCE, SOUL REBEL AND THE BEAST, CHINA GIRL, his own project THE BOOZEHOUNDZ and more.
